Why this matters

  • In 2020, TfL decided not to re-signal our branch as part of its upgrade of the line — a decision it has quietly restated since, in July 2021 and June 2024.
  • The central District line is being resignalled in a multi-billion-pound programme. Our branch — and other western branches — were cut from it, and ours still has no funded plan.
  • South Western Railway's train operator was taken into public ownership on 25 May 2025, so the Government now controls both the operator and the funding. There's no one left to point at.
  • Passenger reports routinely come in while TfL's own status still says “Good Service”.
